Dear Freedom of Information,

Thank you for this information - this only seems to cover retirees, is there a policy that covers officers who may leave mid service and what to rejoin the police a year to two later?

Thanks.

Yours sincerely,

Will Scott

Good Afternoon Mr Scott,

West Yorkshire Police can confirm that we do not have a further policy which would meet your requirements.
Returning as an officer is mentioned within our Recruitment and Selection Policy, but only briefly as follows:-

Re-joining officers (other than career breaks)

Re-joining officers will be:
• considered if they have completed a two full year probation period during their previous service; and
• subject to a further one year probationary period on re-appointment.

All Police officers are governed and protected by terms and conditions set out in law by Parliament known as Police Regulations, and West Yorkshire Police adhere to these. Information relating to Police Regulations are easily accessible on the internet.

Kind Regards
