Police officer assaults

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Crown Prosecution Service should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Crown Prosecution Service,

Could you tell me in the past 3 years :

- How many people were charged with an offence of assaulting a police officer?

- How many of those charged were found guilty / pled guilty?

- How many received a custodial sentence of any length?

- How many received a suspended sentence?

- How many received another outcome that was not a suspended or custodial sentence?

Yours faithfully,

Nicholas Smith
