Police Injury Pensions Protocol

The request was successful.

Dear Avon and Somerset Constabulary,

I would like a copy of any current, valid protocol or other document, whether kept in printed or in digital form, setting out procedures and levels of delegation in regard to the administration of injury pensions.

In particular, but not exclusively, I would like information showing how the Chief Constable, who is the police pensions authority, has delegated his discretionary powers under regulation 37 of The Police (Injury Benefit) Regulations 2006.

Yours faithfully,

James Braithwaite

Dear Mr Braithwaite

I write in connection with your request for information dated 18^th
September concerning the delegation in regard to the administration of
injury pensions.

Specifically you asked: “I would like a copy of any current, valid
protocol or other document, whether kept in printed or in digital form,
setting out procedures and levels of delegation in regard to the
administration of injury pensions.

In particular, but not exclusively, I would like information showing how

his discretionary powers under regulation 37 of The Police (Injury
Benefit) Regulations 2006.”

Please find attached Section 8 of the Avon and Somerset Scheme of
Governance. This section details the terms of the delegation. The
administration of the Police Pension Scheme is carried out on behalf of
the Chief Constable.  The Head of HR Business Support in turn has general
delegated authority for the Director of Human Resources.

Yours sincerely
