Police Injury on Duty Pensions information

The request was partially successful.

Dear Avon and Somerset Constabulary,

I refer to the minutes of the HR Portfolio meeting held on 23 July 2014. The following is a paragraph at section J of the document:

Injury on Duty – The OCC have over 300 ex-officers receiving IOD enhancements costing c£6m in total per annum This is very high compared to other forces. There is a duty to review these and OCC are now conducting a “test” review of 16 cases – stating with the youngest/highest bands. The Dorset FMA will conduct face to fact meetings once assessment forms are returned. New National Regs have been expected since 2010, now expected in 2015. For those individuals who do not comply with the returns assessments will be conducted on what is known, this would not necessarily be in favour of the individuals concerned.

Please can you explain the rationale for conducting a "test" review of 16 cases and provide me with any documentary evidence between, Sue Mountstevens, Carol Wood, Julian Kern and the Chief Constable in respect of this?

Please can you also explain why the youngest and highest bands were selected first and provide any information as to how this decision was made. I am particularily interested in correspondence between, Sue Mountstevens, Carol Wood and Julian Kern.
Yours faithfully,

Raymond Reddington

Dear Mr Reddington

Specifically you asked:

I refer to the minutes of the HR Portfolio meeting held on 23 July 2014.

Although it states a “test” review, it is not actually a test review.  The
process will be evaluated along with the Federation and NARPO, after the
first reviews have taken place.  This is to make sure that the process is
working. No further information is recorded.

Yours sincerely

Dear Avon and Somerset Constabulary,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Avon and Somerset Constabulary's handling of my FOI request 'Police Injury on Duty Pensions information'.

I have raised a number of queries here and feel that the answers you have provided are insufficient. I simply do not believe that a decision that is going to have such a monumental effect on individuals lives has not been subject to any correspondence. As I expect this is a cover up and there is skulduggery taking place. I should be grateful if you would review this answer and provide me with additional information. In particular any written correspondence between any party.

Thank you

RR
