Dear Mr Perry
Freedom of Information Act Request Reference N0.: FOI 664/09 I write in connection with your request for information, which was received by the Norfolk
Constabulary on the 24th of November 2009. I note you seek access to the following information:
1. How many members of your Police Force have been arrested in the last year? Preferably, I
would like the statistics of arrests made from October 2008 to October 2009. If this is not
possible, then I would like you to give me the latest statistics you can i.e. August 2008 to
August 2009.
2. What were the reasons for these arrests
3. How many members of your police force were arrested for each offence?
4. How many of these arrests led to convictions in court?
Your request will now be considered in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (2000).
You will receive a response within the statutory timescale of 20 working days, as defined by the Act,
subject to the information not being exempt or containing a reference to a third party.
In advance of our response, I would like to point out that the Freedom of Information Act provides
the public with a right to request access to recorded information held by the Constabulary. If any of
the information you have requested is not contained in a recorded format, the Constabulary is not
obliged to create information for the purpose of responding to your request.
We aim to respond to your request by the
22nd of December 2009. In some circumstances the
Norfolk Constabulary may be unable to achieve this deadline. If this is likely, you will be informed
and given a revised timescale at the earliest opportunity.
Yours sincerely,
Freedom of Information Department
