Freedom of information, British Transport Police

Dear Mr Evans,

Freedom of Information request ref 1080-18.

Thank you for your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘the
Act’) for the following information:

1. Across England and Wales, in all regions/divisions, can you please
state the current number of active police constables (I.e. not on medical
leave, in initial training etc)

2. If applicable, what is BTP's target for officer numbers in relation to
your plans for the future? (is there a definite number you wish to achieve
by a certain date).

3. How many prospective officers do you have in each process of becoming a
police constable/student constable, please separate using the following:

- currently in training (in England and Wales)

- currently awaiting training/talent pool (please separate using C,B,D
divisions)

4. Prospective officers, if any, in the application process/talent pool
have yet to recieve a training date, please state how many?

5. Prospective officers, in the last 3 years, how many training
dates/intakes have been cancelled and if possible, why?

It is not possible to progress your request at this time, as clarification
is needed from you to enable us to locate the information you have asked
for.

Can you confirm with regard to your definition of ‘active police
constables – are the exclusions of medical leave, in initial training
intended to be the only exclusions? You have added ‘etc’ but it is open to
interpretation what that would be).

In line with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 Section 10(6), the 20
working day timescale will be suspended until the required clarification
has been received, restarting on the date when the information is
received.
