Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for your request which has been processed under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 (FOIA).
In your email you have requested ‘information regarding communication made
to the Commission in relation to incidents of crime that have required
police attendance. provide figures for each of the four quarters of 2018
and the first two quarters of 2019. the number of active premises, number
of incidents and average incidents per premise for the following venues:
- Betting outlets
- Casinos
- Adult Gaming Centres
- Family Entertainment Centres
- Bingo halls
- Grand Total.’
Please see attached spreadsheet containing the information held by the
Commission within the scope of your request.
There are some factors which should be taken into consideration when
viewing these figures. Firstly, these figures represent the number of
times there has been police attendance at a licensed premises, not
specifically in relation to crime.
Secondly, operators report both annually and on a quarterly basis and the
number of premises that are reported varies, hence the noticeable swings
in data between quarters. Therefore an average of the number of reported
premises was taken over the 6 quarters and compared against the times
there had been police in attendance over the same period.
Review of the decision
If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your
Freedom of Information request and wish to make a complaint or request a
review of our decision, you should write to FOI Team, Gambling Commission,
4th floor, Victoria Square House, Victoria Square, Birmingham, B2 4BP.

procedure provided by the Gambling Commission. The ICO can be contacted
at: The Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane,
