Dear Staffordshire Police,
I note that Staffordshire Police Cadet scheme, for 13 to 17-year-olds, was initiated in 2013 by Matthew Ellis to strengthen links between police and young people and promote good citizenship.
FOI Q1.What is the current number of cadets engaged with Staffordshire Police, broken down in terms of gender and ethnicity?
FOI Q2.What is the wording of the oath of allegiance the cadets have to swear to enroll, and what is the source of the wording for the oath?
FOI Q3.Is the cadet age range still 13 to 17 years, and who is the police officer nominated to be in overall charge of running the cadets?
FOI Q4.What is the source of funding for the scheme and the annual budget for the cadet scheme this year?

Yours faithfully,
Dennis Fallon(BScHons)

Staffordshire Police

Thank you for your FOI request, you will receive a response in due course.

Dear Freedom of Information,
Thank you for your very helpful and prompt response, extremely efficient service.
One issue for clarification is reference Q2, the Oath of Allegience. Is it known who decided upon the wording and where it is sourced, are there guidelines, because different forces seem to chose different wording (other than the force area, obviously)?.

Yours sincerely,

Dennis Fallon(BScHons)

Dear Mr Fallon,

Thank you for your email.

The oath was written by Chief Supt Sharrard-Williams and reflected at the time the values and strategy of the Force.
