Points West Presenter hours and salary changes post covid
Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,
Prior to the global COVID pandemic the Points West evening news programme in Bristol was co presented by David and Alex. Following social distancing it was understandable that the presentation was reduced to one of the two of them on each show.
Over a year later this is continuing and a third presenter is frequently used for Friday evening. As David and Alex are clearly working less in a presenter role I think expect that their salary has been reduced accordingly.
Please can the BBC confirm:
1. Have either David or Alex’s working hours been reduced follow the decision to have one presenter on the show.
2. If their hours have not been reduced, what additional activities are they performing in lieu of the broadcast hours?
3. Have either David or Alex’s salaries been reduced to reflect the reduction in presenting hours.
4. What were the presenters salary bands pre covid eg Dec 2019 and now eg Apr 2021. If absolute figures cannot be provided, what is their salary now as a percentage of that in Dec 2019?
