Dear Mr  Lee

Thank you for your e-mail request for information below which is being
handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000; this e-mail is a full
response to that application.

The Council does hold the information you have requested, responses to
which are listed below:

You asked for:

Q1)   A full list of all the cctv cameras located in plymouth as of 1st
September 2014 with their camera number and whether it is used for crime
reasons or traffic. Also  is the traffic side of cctv managed by a
different control room?

A1)     Plymouth City Council currently operate 279 cameras to monitor
Public Safety in and around the City of Plymouth from a centralised
control room. A list of  camera locations can be found in the above Excel
attachment (Plymouth CC CTV)

The Parking Unit also use CCTV cameras to record vehicles driving or
parking in bus lanes and bus stops to aid with bus service reliability,
improve bus passenger journey times and provide a safer lane for
cyclists.  In additon the camera car also records data on CCTV on vehicles
breaching parking contraventions outside of schools and in bus
lanes/stops. This assists with reducting traffic congestion and road
safety.

*locations and camera numbers are in the table below:-

Bus Lane, Bus Stops and Camera Car numbers and
location
Camera 1 Dean Hill, Plymstock
Camera 2 Tavistock Road (Before Sendall's Way)
Camera 3 Pemros Road

Separately to Plymouth City Council, Amey (Highways) operate cameras for
traffic monitoring purposes from their Network Control Centre.  I have
also  attached  a list of these cameras in the Amey cameras file above.
