Please provide gender breakdown for revenge porn prosecutions

Robert Sharp made this Freedom of Information request to Crown Prosecution Service

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Crown Prosecution Service should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Crown Prosecution Service,

Your 'Violence Against Women and Girls' report for 2016, published on 6 September, says that there were 206 prosecutions for revenge pornography since the new law was introduced in 2015.

Were all the victims in these cases women? Were all the prosecutions against men? Please provide a gender breakdown for perpetrator and victim for these 206 cases.

Many thanks,

Robert Sharp

Dear Freedom of Information Unit,

Thank you for your response. You write that "to determine this would require a manual review of over 180 case records which would consequently engage the cost limit set out in section 12 of the FOI Act."

I would be grateful if you would supply the 180+ case records so that I may perform the analysis myself.

Yours sincerely,

Robert Sharp

I've submitted a similar but modified request too, which should allow them to release the information in part while under provisioned cost limit.
