Dear Mr Oakes

I am writing in response to your request for information under the terms
of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Ref No FOI/15/465.

Please find below, the details of your request and our response in blue.

Your request:

 1. the council as a Medical Advisor who advises the council on group two
Medicals for applicatation on P/Hire and Hackneys Drivers Licenses,
provide that full cost paid to Medical Advisor by  the Council for the
last two years 2013 /2014 and 2014/2015.
 2. how is this money paid to the Medical Advisor by the council   I.E one
off payment or Per advice,  per week  how is it paid. and is this
money paid from poublic money or though licensing fees.

Our response:

 1. 2013/2014  - £150

2014/2015 - £800

 2. The referral fees are paid on receipt of invoice from the consultant,
so this depends on how often they chose to submit invoices to us.  We
would normally pay the invoice within 30 days of receipt.

I believe Part 2 of the second question refers to whether the fees are
recharged to the trade or paid out of public funds.  This information is
in the public domain, as it was in the Licensing fees review which went to
the Licensing and Public Safety Committee in July 2014.  Here is a link
[1]Taxi Licence Fees and Charges – Review of Cost Apportionment

However, in order to be of assistance, the answer is that the cost for the
medical referrals has been recharged since 1^st October 2014 on each
driver grant or renewal application fee, as agreed by the Committee. As
with all such charges they will be reassessed at the next fees and charges
review and adjusted accordingly.

I hope the information provided here answers your enquiry.  If however,
you are unhappy with the outcome, or the way in which Chorley Council has
handled your request, you may wish to make an appeal.  This can be done in
writing to the Information Manager, Chorley Council, Civic Offices, Union
Street, Chorley, PR7 1AL, or by e-mail to: [2][email address]  clearly
stating your reasons for dissatisfaction.  Please quote the above
reference number in all correspondence.

If your appeal is either not upheld or you remain dissatisfied with our
decision, you can appeal to the Information Commissioner at:  Information
Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9
5AF, or by e-mail to [3][email address].

Please note that the information provided by Chorley Borough Council is
intended for your personal use. If it is your intention to re-use the
information for commercial gain, you will need to apply to the Council for
a licence to re-use it, under the Re-Use of Public Sector Information
Regulations 2005.

Yours sincerely
