I write on behalf of the University of Leicester in response to your request, dated 10th December 2017, made under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Our response is as follows

The University can confirm there is asbestos within the Brookfield Campus previously known as Charles Greats campus when it was part of DMU.
Brookfield as with all buildings in the University Estate it is managed in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. All areas have been surveyed and are monitored annually by a UKAS accredited organisation.

Please be aware that it is also your legal right under Section 50 of the Freedom of Information Act, to apply to the Information Commissioner for a decision whether a request for information made to the University has been dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the Act.
