Please advise the costs to date of establishing identity cards

Dear Her Majesty's Treasury,

As of todays date , 12th December 2009, it would appear from statements from the chancellor of the exchequer that the identity card scheme is likely to be abandoned.

Please advise the costs to date of this scheme.
