Customer Feedback, Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council

8 Attachments

Dear Mr Snape,

As requested please find attached correspondence between the Council and Sport England that makes reference to Lion Farm Playing fields. In terms of context, the references in these emails are in relation to the refresh of the Sandwell Playing Pitch Strategy Needs Assessment (PPS) so are not directly related to the original request but do bear some relevance. The PPS is a needs assessment of all outdoor sports pitches, not solely football. It includes cricket, rugby and tennis for example. The PPS is currently being refreshed as part of the Councils Expression of Interest for the FA Parklife programme, to lever investment into football facilities in Sandwell, primarily artificial turf pitches (AGPs). We were requested by Sport England to conduct a refresh to update our evidence of need relating to AGP's to demonstrate the need in Sandwell for further AGPs. However, the scope of the PPS refresh is also to update any other changes or potential changes in provision. The references to Lion Farm are related to how we approach the inclusion of the football provision / pitches at Lion Farm with the uncertainty regarding whether that provision will remain in the future given the proposed development. Information relating to which is in the public domain. However, the council has had no correspondence with Sport England specifically regarding Lion Farm Playing fields and / or any future use of the site.

Kindest Regards,
