Dear Ms Brady

As you know, we are dealing with your 24 January request for information
under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004.  When I wrote to you
on 25 January, I explained that we would aim to answer your request within
20 working days.

It has since become apparent that due to the complexity and volume of
information requested it is not possible to respond to the request within
20 working days.  The Regulations permit an extension to 40 working days
in such circumstances.

On this basis, I hope to let you have a response as soon as possible, and
no later than 22 March.

If you are unhappy with the handling of your request, you have the right
to ask for an internal review.  Internal review requests should be
submitted within 40 working days of the date of this response, so by 19
April, and should be addressed to the Information Access Team at
[1][Northumbrian Water request email], or made via [2]www.whatdotheyknow.com.

If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of the internal review, you can
apply, without charge, to the Information Commissioner, who will consider
whether we have complied with our obligations under the Regulations, and
can require Northumbrian Water to remedy any problems.  You can find out
more about how to do this, and the Regulations in general, on the
Information Commissioner’s website at [3]www.ico.org.uk. Complaints to the
Information Commissioner can be made via the “report a concern” section of
the website.

Yours sincerely
