Plans for West Ashland Blue Lights Hub

The request was successful.

Dear South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust,

Wish to know what is planned for the new base South Central Ambulance Service have at the West Ashland Blue Lights Hub. Are you planning to use it as a replacement for the old Milton Keynes Ambulance Station? Or just as a additional ambulance station for the area. Or is it going to be used as a ambulance standby post of some sort?

Can you also tell me the number of vehicles that will be based at it such as DMA’s, SRV etc?

Yours faithfully,

Danny Chatfield

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your FOI request.

The new Blue Light Hub (BLH) is the permanent home of Milton Keynes and Bletchley Ambulance stations both of which are no longer in use. The new location has the advantage of being close to the A5 which allows SCAS to respond to the farthest points of MK much quicker than previously in our old Stations. It is not just a base station but allows SCAS to respond to emergencies and is part of our standby points plan across MK.

We have approximately 18 ambulances, 2 cars and a Team Leader per day over a 24 hr period responding from the BLH

I hope this information meets your requirements but if you are unhappy with the way your request for information has been handled, you can request a review by writing to: Will Hancock, Chief Executive, South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust, Units 7 & 8 Talisman Business Centre, Talisman Road, Bicester, Oxon, OX26 6HR.
