Planning meeting January 12, 2022

The request was refused by Conwy County Borough Council.

Dear Conwy County Borough Council,
Please can you clarify that on planning meeting on January 12, ref Application No: Grid
Reference:
0/48885
Prior to the meeting, a memo was sent to all councilors (which we have a copy of) advising the Councillors not to vote against the planning application above unless they absolutely had to.

Can you clarify please the following

1, Is this normal practice?
2, Who decided to do this? And Why?
3, Does this type of practice not undermine the independence of the whole planning process if decisions are made without a fair hearing?
4, If this is to become common practice, will there still be a need for the Councillors at the planning meeting as it could be viewed as just tokenism if they are advised in advance what decision to take?

Yours faithfully,

Dyffed Rowlands
