Clare Thompson, Tendring District Council

Dear Richard Scott,

Thank you for your email dated 14^th September 2011 regarding “details of
all complaints received by TDC in the last 2 years regarding breaches of
the planning conditions for the Strangers Home pub and campsite.”

I can confirm that your request for information is actually exempt from
Freedom of Information Section 21 as it is “information reasonably
accessible to the applicant by other means”.

The information that you are seeking is currently available via the
Council’s Public Access system which lists all planning, appeal and
enforcement issues and can be found at:-

[1]http://idox.tendringdc.gov.uk/online-app...

This feature allows you to search for a particular site/application
number/key word.

For example, if you type “Strangers” into the “search box” and check the
“enforcement” box, two items are displayed – namely, 11/00262/ENOTH3 and
11/00033/CHGUS3.  Both of these cases are as a result of a complaint which
have been identified and investigated.

As you may also be aware, there is a current planning application
currently being considered and this again can be viewed by following the
above instruction and checking the “applications” box (reference
11/01015/FUL).

I trust that this answers your query but please do not hesitate to contact
me if you require any further information or assistance or wish to discuss
any item further with an officer.

Please be aware that our computer systems will not be available this
weekend due to essential maintenance (see the “red” note below).

Regards,

Clare Thompson

Dear Clare Thompson,

Unfortunately, Public Access doesn't have much information about the complaints. For the example you gave, it just says 'Engineering or other Ops - priority 3'. I was rather hoping for details of the actual complaint, rather than a generic classification.

Also, the 'Related Items' link doesn't work - it returns an error message instead.

Yours sincerely,

Richard Scott

Clare Thompson, Tendring District Council

Dear Mr. Scott,

Thank you for your further email.

I have spoken with the enforcement team and am now in possession of the
two relevant enforcement files.

Under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act, I am happy to make
copies of the files (redacting any personal information) or you are
welcome to come into the offices at Weeley to view them.

I wonder if it may be easier to post these documents to you?  If so,
please advise your address and I will action as soon as possible.

I have also passed on your comments regarding the “related items” to our
IT representative.

Regards,

Clare Thompson
