I should be grateful if you can furnish me with the following
information under FOI request:

For each of years 1997 to 2008:

a. How many people did you employ in your planning department?

b. How many planning applications did you receive in each of these
years?

c. What was the average time required to process applications in
each of these years?

d. What was the shortest time scale for giving approval to a
planning application in each of these years?

e. What was the longest time scale for giving approval to a
planning application in each of these years?

f. How many decisions were referred to the planning inspectorate in
each of these years?

g. What is the total budget for running the planning department in
each of these years?

e. What was the longest time scale for giving approval to a planning application in each of these years?

g. What is the total budget for running the planning department in each of these years?

Your request is being considered and you will receive the information requested within the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Freedom of Information Act 2000, subject to the information not being exempt or containing a reference to a third party.

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 defines a number of exemptions that will prevent the release of information.
