Dear Alsager Town Council,
I am writing on behalf of a local resident.
From the minutes of a recent meeting planning reference 22/4140C was discussed. There were two areas of concern, the first being the lack of planning notices, and the second being that the group felt there as not enough information to make a decision. Given that the deadline for objections or approval is two weeks away, what are the councils plans to obtain the informatioin needed?
Will the council be contacted Cheshire East or the applicant for more information? If no information is forthcoming will Alsager Town Council make any decision at all, or leave comments to others?
What is the information that the council believes is missing, leading to a current lack of decision either for or against. What steps or plans have been put in place to get this information and make an informed decision before the deadline for submissions?
If no information arrives before the deadline, will the council make a decision based on factors such as the appearance, and size of The Vault development, how it fits into the local streetscape. How it looks now ( in keeping ) and how it will look in years to come?
This is not a request to ascertain the council decision but how the council will obtain informaiton before the deadline to make an informed choice, or will there be no decision in no information arrives in time?
Dear Jackie Wood,
I write further to your email below to confirm the following, Alsager Town Council are a statutory consultee on Planning Applications within Alsager, they do not make the decision on any application, but as a consultee they make representations to Cheshire East Council. These representations are determined at the Town Councils Planning, Environment and Community Committee and are forwarded to Cheshire East Council. Cheshire East Council have a duty to consider all responses from Alsager Town Council when determining planning applications.
Alsager Town Council considered Planning Application number 22/4140C at its meeting on 25 October 2022, attached is a copy of the response to this application which has been sent to Cheshire East Council. The response stated that further information was sought on the application, as the information contained on Cheshire East website for this application is insufficient and the Town Council cannot make an informed decision based on the information provided. The Town Council Planning Committee will consider the application at its meeting on 15 November 2022, any further information published on Cheshire Easts website by that time will be considered by the Planning Committee.
It cannot be predetermined what the Town Council Planning Committee will consider or decide at that meeting, I cannot inform you at this stage as to whether a decision will be made at that meeting or otherwise, and I cannot information you what factors will be considered as part of the discussion and decision making.
You are, of course, welcome to attend the Town Councils Planning Committee on 15 November and speak in the public participation session on this matter, the agenda for this meeting will be posted on the Town Councils website in due course.
Mrs Carol Bagnall
Deputy Town Clerk
Alsager Town Council
