Planning application fee for planning application 16/03061/OUTMAJ Land South of Priory Road

The request was partially successful.

Dear West Berkshire Council,

Under the provisions of the FOI Act and/or the EIR's, please supply details of the fee paid ( including calculations) for application 16/03061/OUTMAJ - Land South of Priory Road, Hungerford.

For avoidance of doubt, the primary purpose of this request is to establish whether the fee was calculated according to the acreage included in Policy HSA19 of the (then draft) DPD of 5.7 hectares or on the increased acreage of 7.12 hectares in the Planning Application.

To assist the FOI team, please see correspondence published for another application - Land to the South of Irish Hill Road and North of Holt Road Kintbury which details the information I am after http://planning.westberks.gov.uk/rpp/sho.... I appreciate that the information may be held in a different format, or a variety of formats including computerised records/receipts etc.

If a further fee was paid for the amended application considered under the same reference, then please include that information, or confirm that no further fee was paid.

Yours faithfully,

J A Giggins

Dear foi,

Many thanks for the information provided. Would it be possible to also provide copies of any documents that accompanied the fee payment which would presumably detail when the fee was paid/received?

Many thanks.

Yours sincerely,

J A Giggins

Dear foi,

Please could you acknowledge my further email of 29th June requesting the accompanying documentation to the planning fee, from which I can hopefully ascertain when it was paid.

I would hope that you would be able to provide this information promptly without the need to request an internal review.

Many thanks.

I have marked this as having received 'some of the information' as I have not received any accompanying correspondence from the applicants/agents.

What seems clear however from the information that has been supplied is that both the applicants and West Berkshire Council were aware from the outset that the application was for a significantly larger development area (7.12 hectares) than that put forward in the Housing Allocations DPD which at the time of the application was subject to consultation on main modifications, one of which was an increase in site area from 5 hectares to 5.7 hectares.

It is also worth noting that West Berkshire Council had originally proposed that the increase of 0.7 hectares should be put through as a 'minor modification' and that it was the Inspector at the Examination in Public' who considered the increase significant enough to merit public consultation as a 'major modification'.
