Dear Mr Smith

Further to your below request for an internal review of your FOI handling, please accept my apology for the delay in processing your request. This was due to our current staffing capacity in the main as the team have recently lost two experienced FOI research officers which has unfortunately led to an FOI backlog.
Our new staff members are currently being trained so the temporary staffing issue will hopefully be resolved in the near future.

I understand that the FOI response was sent out to you earlier today.

Kind regards
