Places offered on Physics degrees to applicants from private schools and colleges with RUK fee status
Dear University of St Andrews,
Please provide:
1. The total number of applicants for entry to the following undergraduate degree courses: Physics BSc & MPhys; Astrophysics BSc & MPhys and Theoretical Physics & Mphys, for commencement from Autumn 2019 and also for 2020(only people that appied up to 12 March 2020). Please sort these by a) international fee status applicants; b) European fee status applicants; c) Scotland-resident applicants and d) RUK fee status applicants.
2. The total number of offers for those courses to each of the different fee-status applicant groups for those who applied to the department of Physics and Astronomy for entry in 2019 and also for those applying for entry in 2020 (who applied up until 12 March 2020).
3. The number of offers that your department of Physics and Astronomy made up to 12 March 2020, specifically to RUK fee-status applicants to those undergraduate degree courses who were at the time of their application being educated at an independent (private) schools/colleges for entry in 2019 and also for entry in 2020. Please also specify the number of places offered on those degree courses to RUK status applicants who were, at the time of applying, being educated in non-private schools/colleges in England, Wales and Northern Ireland for 2019 and 2020.
4. Does the department of Astronomy and Physics have a clear policy to put the lowest possible priority on offering places to RUK-funded applicants who have or who are attending private schools? If this is the case, they please explain why?
