Places for Everyone Consultation with Communities (meetings/workshops)

The request was successful.

Dear Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council,

Having reviewed the Places for Everyone Consultation Summaries, I cannot see any detail about meetings or workshops with community groups (including Parish Councils), yet there do appear to have been meetings and workshops with developers and landowners.

Please can you provide two lists detailing the following - specifically in relation to the GMSF/Places for Everyone meetings/workshops YOUR organisation has arranged:
- For community groups a list of the dates, a summary of the groups or types of individuals invited and the key discussion topics
- For landowners/developers a list of the dates, a summary of the organisations or types of individuals invited and the key discussion topics.

Many thanks.

Yours faithfully,

Susan Sollazzi

Freedom Of Info, Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council

Dear Susan Sollazzi

Request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000

In response to your request for information received at this office on 17
July 2022, please see the Council’s response below.

You requested

Having reviewed the Places for Everyone Consultation Summaries, I cannot
see any detail about meetings or workshops with community groups
(including Parish Councils), yet there do appear to have been meetings and
workshops with developers and landowners.

Please can you provide two lists detailing the following

- specifically in relation to the GMSF/Places for Everyone

- For community groups a list of the dates, a summary of the groups or
types of individuals invited and the key discussion topics

- For landowners/developers a list of the dates, a summary of the
organisations or types of individuals invited and the key discussion
topics.

Our response

All engagement undertaken by Bolton Council on Places for Everyone and
earlier drafts of the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework is described in
[1]Places for Everyone, Bolton Council, Statement of Community Involvement
Compliance Statement, February 2022.

Bolton Council did not hold any formal meetings or workshops specifically
for community groups, landowners or developers on the Places for
Everyone.  However a number of drop-in events were held at various
locations across the borough during the consultation period on the first
and second drafts of the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework.  Details of
these can be found in the document referred to above.  These events were
publicised and open to all.  There were no drop-in sessions arranged
during consultation on the Publication draft of Places for Everyone due to
Covid restrictions.

As is usual during the course of plan production the Council has held
meetings with landowners and developers covering a range of matters during
the plan’s preparation. However, these meetings were not formally
documented and therefore it is not possible to produce a list as
requested.
