Dear Mr Oakley,

Thanks for such a fast response to my request - it is very much appreciated.

You have provided me with a link to what appears to be the original PHSO/IPCC 2006 joint protocol. I had already found this in the government web archive but had anticipated that it would have been updated as it is 11 years old - particularly given the changes to the handling of police complaints and appeals in the 2012 legislation.

Please can you confirm that this is the original 2006 protocol between the PHSO and the IPCC and it remains as the current working protocol in 2017?

If yes, could you advise if this protocol is due for review - I appreciate this question is outside my original FOIA request but as Head of Policy I hope perhaps that you are able to answer?
