Smoke alarms - Test alarms weekly - Obvious dangers - Plan your escape
Dear Grogan, Ruth,
In addition to this enquiry,
Is it true that:
- If a firefighter is on operational emergency duties and is changing the rear of the appliance, it is not appropriate for them to be filmed.
- Unauthorised filming isn’t appropriate during an emergency situation, even if standing in a public place.
- You need to make a formal request to film or take photographs in a public place of NIFRS.
- You need to request permission through the NIFRS Corporate Communications Department to take pictures of firefighters in public.
Sorry for dropping this on you so suddenly but I was recently told some of this information but I want to know if it's true or not.
Yours sincerely,
Aodhán R
Hi Aodhan
That’s fine I will add this onto your original request and pass it to the relevant department.
