Dear Mr Howlett,

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST

Thank you for your email of 5 November 2012.

Long Road Sixth Form College has adopted the model publication scheme
developed for colleges of further education, to meet the requirements of
the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Section 43 of the Act sets out an exemption from the right to know if the
information requested is a trade secret or if release of the information
is likely to prejudice the commercial interests of the College.

As the information requested relates to procurement decisions,
confidential information from suppliers and the College negotiating
position, aspects set out in the model publication scheme, section 43
applies.  Your request does not pass the Public Interest Test as the
likely prejudice to the College caused by possible disclosure outweighs
the likely benefit to the wider public.

Long Road Sixth Form College will thus not be providing you with the
information requested.

If you have a complaint about the availability of information, you should
write to the Clerk to the Corporation at the College.  For Right of
