Pharmacy Graduates and Employment

Leon O'Hagan made this Freedom of Information request to Queen's University Belfast

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Queen’s University Belfast,

Please can you provide me with the number of students graduating with the mPharm degree from 2000-2012.

If the University also keep records of employment in the year following graduation (pre-reg year), please can you provide those numbers also.

Yours faithfully,

Leon O'Hagan

Dear Queen’s University Belfast,

Following my original FOI request which should have been, by law, responded to by 11th April 2013, I am requesting an internal review.

Yours faithfully,

Leon O'Hagan

Dear Mr O'Hagan

Since your request was not refused by the University an internal review is not applicable. Unfortunately you did not receive a response to this request because I was unaware that it had been submitted.

The University always acknowledges requests, as required by law, on the same day as receipt and provides an indication of when a response will issue. If you did not hear from the University on that date it is because your request was not logged and actioned.

I will arrange for this request to be progressed now and, given that some two months have lapsed, will endeavour to respond asap.

I apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Dear Amanda/ Michelle,

May I add a clarification to my request, I had asked for employment statistics for the year following graduation (Pre-reg Year), however, I was able to find the information using http://unistats.direct.gov.uk/ so that part of the request does not need to be answered. I suspect the 100% employment is due to the pre-reg year being funded by the DoH and pharmacies keen to avail of this income.

Does the University hold any employment information for the year following pre-reg? Which will give a greater representation of employment uptake after completing the degree course.

Yours faithfully,

Leon O'Hagan
