Dear Mr Cameron,

Thank you for your information request of 11 December 2019 and please
accept our apologies for delay in providing the response to you. Aberdeen
City Council (ACC) has completed the necessary search for the information
requested. Our response is now detailed below.

Please provide me with information relating to pests recorded in the
council area over the past five financial years.

•             How many call outs has there been to schools in the council
area due to pest issues? Please break this down by school where possible
and the type of pests reported

Please find enclosed the 6 x spreadsheets in relation to schools. Please
note Column H shows when a visit has been recorded.

•             How many call outs has there been to council-owned
properties due to pest issues? Please give a breakdown stating which
council building (just state council housing if it’s a rented home) and
the type of pests reported

Please find enclosed the 3 x spreadsheets in relation to Dwellings, Non
Dwellings and Schools. Please note the data of visits for Council
dwellings was only recorded for 2017/18 onward.  Data for 2014/15, 15/16
and 16/17 lists the number of service requests, many of which did not
require a visit.

•             How much money has been spent by the council dealing with
pest call outs for each of the five past financial years

Please find enclosed document ref: EIR-19-1671 – Question 3. Please note
that we only hold the information for buildings within Non-housing
property portfolio only.

We do not have a record of the costs for Council housing.

We are unable to provide you with information on how much money has been
spent by the council dealing with pest call outs in Council housing for
each of the five past financial years as it is not held by the Council.
In order to comply with our obligations under the terms of Regulation
10(4)(a) - Information Not Held - of the EIRs, we hereby gives notice that
this information is not held by us.  We are required by Regulation
10(1)(b) of the EIRs to inform you as to why in all the circumstances of
the case, the public interest in maintaining this exception outweighs the
public interest in disclosing this information to you.  We are satisfied
that we do not hold this information and consider that, as there is no
information held, the public interest lies with the exception.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE HANDLING OF YOUR REQUEST

As the information which you requested is environmental information, as
defined under Regulation 2(1) of the Environmental Information (Scotland)
Regulations 2004 (the EIRs), we considered that it was exempt from release
through FOISA, and must therefore give you notice that we are refusing
your request under Section 39(2) of FOISA (Freedom of Information
(Scotland) Act 2002).  However, you have a separate right to access the
information which you have requested under Regulation 5 of the EIRs, under
which we have handled your request. Please refer to the attached PDF for
more information about your rights under the EIRs.

We hope this helps with your request.

Yours sincerely,
