Dear Ceredigion Council,
Can you please provide me with the following information:
Has Ceredigion Council made bye-laws on the employment of children under the age of 16?
If so have those bye-laws been submitted to the National Assembly for confirmation?
If so have they been confirmed, and when?
Does Ceredigion Council provide information on UK law, their own bye-laws and other legislation pertaining to the employment in Ceredigion of children under the age of 16?
Does Ceredigion Council publish information on UK law, their own bye-laws and other legislation pertaining to the employment in Ceredigion of children under the age of 16?
If so, what information is published, where is it published and when was it last updated?
Does Ceredigion council provide advice to employers, parents, and children on the employment of children under the age of 16?
Do employers in Ceredigion need to apply for permits to employ children under the age of 16?
If so what is the procedure for applying for permits?
What does the permit cover?
How many child employment permits have been requested in total by employers in Ceredigion between 1st July 2015 and 30th July 2018?
Can you provide a month by month breakdown of these figures?
Can you provide a breakdown of permit requests in terms of individual employers?
Have there been any contraventions of the permits issued or have you received reports of any employers abusing the authority of the permits issued?
Have any cases of illegal child employment been brought to the attention of Ceredigion Council during the last 5 years, and if so what was the action that was taken by the council?

Please note that we are still awaiting information from the relevant
service on Ceredigion bye-laws as the staff member responsible for this
work has left.  Please accept our sincere apologies that there will be a
delay in providing you with this information.

 

Has Ceredigion Council made bye-laws on the employment of children under
the age of 16? –

Yes

 

If so have those bye-laws been submitted to the National Assembly for
confirmation? –

Not known at present as this work would have been completed by a previous
member of staff.

 

If so have they been confirmed, and when?

 

Does Ceredigion Council provide information on UK law, their own bye-laws
and other legislation pertaining to the employment in Ceredigion of
children under the age of 16?

We have information regarding child employment hours.

With regards to bye-laws, enquiries are still being made.

due to change in staffing we only have data for the following dates July
2017 – present

9 requests have been received during this period

We do not have full data as this role was completed by another member of
staff who has left.

we cannot release details regarding individual employers due to
confidentiality
