Dear Paul,

Thank you for your recent Freedom of Information request. I can now offer
you the following information:

During 2009 - 20010 Bromsgrove District and Redditch Borough Councils have
been implementing a joint project to implement shared services across the
two authorities. The project will save £250,000 this year, rising to
£674,000 in 2012-13.

When both Councils agreed to proceed with the project, Kevin Dicks was
appointed Joint Chief Executive and a new single management team was
created, reducing the number of Heads of Service from 16 to 10. Sharing
services across two Councils has further enabled the reduction in the
number of 4th tier managers adding to savings. To further complicate the
issue Bromsgrove and Redditch Councils now host Worcestershire Regulatory
Services - a county wide service.

You can see that the circumstances are complex and it not possible to give
you a percentage 'cuts to salaries' as the new roles differ from those
that have existed previously.  However I hope the figures given above
will help you.

I am specifically interested in any "cuts to salaries" incurred by the Mangement Team that are currntly left "in post " .
The explanation of the reduction of Heads of Service is totally irrelevant to the point I am trying to make .
Lifeline / CCTV suffered a 35% cut to salaries OR VCR THEN implementation of the 35% cut in 6 months time (New Year ) .What "cuts " have Management incurred ?
Forget the "combining of jobs " WE suffered that , coming together as one Team AND THEN 35% cuts to salaries .

Dear FOI RBC,Thank you for the response . However , to re-iterate my question ; What cuts (if any ) have the Management Team incurred due to implementation of Shared Services , please ?
Not necessary to "waffle " about the reduction of Heads of Service etc .... I am interested in finding out whether cuts to their salaries were implemented . The comparison I am making is that when Shared Services was implemented to Lifeline / CCTV we also "lost " 7 jobs BUT ALSO had a 35% cut inflicted upon those "left in post " .
Have any cuts to Management ("left in post " ) been made ? Hopefully , with RBC having an "Equalities Policy " this is the case ?
If not , then why not ?
Hypocrisy and a lack of fundamental morales is NOT what a Management Team should possess
The entire issue needs NOT ONLY an internal review but also a PUBLIC ENQUIRY , in my opinion .
Hope this explains the reasoning behind my request .

Dear FOI RBC Your response dated 13Sept 2010 does not resolve my query .I did not ask for a "history lesson " on Shared Services nor did I ask to be "blinded by stats" irrespective of the "meant to impress "figure that are quoted . I simply want to know if the Management Team currently in post at RBC have suffered any cuts to their salaries (if so please state what percentage )
