I refer to your request dated 22^nd October 2019 under the Freedom Of
Information Act asking to supply the following information:

 

·         Can you please provide me with the total amount of penalty
notices you handed out to parents in the academic year 2018/2019 for
taking children on holiday in term time.

 

·         Could you kindly tell me where this money goes once it has been
received by the council.

 

The Council’s response is set out below:

 

o 6851 penalty notices were issued in the academic year of 2018/2019 for
taking children on holiday/unauthorised leave of absence in term time.

 

o Revenue from payment of penalty notices is retained by the council to
cover the cost of administering the penalty notice scheme and to cover
the cost of prosecuting parents that fail to pay their penalty
notices.

 

In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, if you are not
satisfied with the reply to your request you can ask for a review. A
request for a review must be submitted within 40 working days by
contacting [1][email address] or by writing Information Governance
Team, Bradford Metropolitan District, 1st Floor, Britannia House, Hall
Ings, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD1 1HX.

 

If you are still not satisfied with the outcome of the internal review you

Dear Childrens - FOI,

Thank you very much for providing this information.

Why is it that Bradford Council retain money from Academies?? Shouldn't that money go back into the academy??
Bradford council sat back and didn't support any of the failing schools across Bradford they were picked up by other councils and others.

If I am correct you retained almost £411,000. Yet we have 52 secondary schools across Bradford and 19 are Academies.
202 primary schools across Bradford and 26 are Academies = 13%
Total 254 schools 45 are Academies
