PEDL 164 Work Programme

John Wilkinson made this Freedom of Information request to Oil and Gas Authority

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Oil and Gas Authority,

The Deeds of Variation to Licence PEDL 164 only specify a work programme by the end of June 2018 requiring that the Licensee must process a volume of 3D seismic data, and prepare and submit a report on it. However, the chart headed "Retention areas agreed December 2017" appears to over-ride this Licence condition and require Aurora to submit a planning application for exploratory fracking by the end of June 2018.

Can you please confirm that the latter is the current work programme requirement, and indicate what legal provision has been used to implement it?

Yours faithfully,

John Wilkinson

Dear OGA FOI requests,

Can you please explain why the workload data shown in your Retention Areas Table published in December 2017 differs from that contained in the Deed of Variation agreed with Aurora in October 2017?

Specifically:
- As far as RA1 is concerned, different dates are quoted for both the submission of a planning application and the completion of a well.
- As far as RA2 is concerned, different dates are also quoted for both the completion of seismic surveys and the submission of a planning application. Furthermore the Retention Area Table makes no reference to the date for completion of a well in area RA2 shown in the DOV.

Can you please confirm which data is correct?

Can you also please explain why the map attached to the DOV does not accord with the seismic survey area which was notified by Aurora to the local authorities concerned?

Yours sincerely,

John Wilkinson
