Dear Gurpreet,

ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION REGULATIONS 2004 - INFORMATION REQUEST

Thank you for your request for information received on 15th November 2021.

Planning Applications

Could you please disclose how many applications you have had to convert
–

a)             shops into residential homes (total number of homes ) how
many of these were notifications of permitted development rights?

b)       b) office spaces into residential homes (number of homes) how
many of these were notifications of permitted development rights?

We confirm that we hold the information you have requested for a) and b)
and it is already publicly available on Planning’s Public Access system
on the Council’s website. For ease of reference, the information can be
accessed using the following link:

[1]https://planningonline.caerphilly.gov.uk

When accessing the information, you should use the Advanced Search option
and enter Change of Use in the Application Type field and MIDWL (for 1-9
residential units) or MADWL (for 10 or more residential units) in the
Development Type field.  The relevant date range criteria can be entered
in the date option fields at the bottom of the page. I believe the
permitted development rights notifications you are referring to relate to
legislation applicable in England and not Wales.

c)       The total number of new home applications. (number of homes)

This information is also publicly available on Planning’s Public Access
system on the Council’s website using the above link and you should use
the Advanced Search option and enter MIDWL or MADWL in the Development
Type field.  You can also use options in the Application Type field if you
are only interested in Reserved Matters applications, for example.

We do not record the number of homes unless it is included in the
description of development provided on the application form but the
Officer Report, which is held in the Documents Tab on the Public Access
system, will contain this information.

For both in every year between 2016-2021, with a monthly breakdown (if a
monthly breakdown for all years is not possible, please provide a monthly
breakdown for 2020 and 2021)

You can use the Date Option fields at the bottom of the Advanced Search
page to enter your date range criteria.

Information Regulations 2004. Environmental information is exempt from
