Payments from Swindon Community Library Trust
Dear Swindon Borough Council,
For the last few years Swindon Community Library Trust have been running Liden & Covingham Libraries.
I understand that the Librarian at the libraries is employed by Swindon Borough Council (SBC). My questions relate to this.
*How much have Swindon Community Library Trust paid to SBC each year since 2016 for the services of the librarian?
*What is the cost to SBC of providing the librarian to Swindon Community Library Trust at Liden & Covingham Libraries each year since 2016?
Yours faithfully,
Mr Sean Wilson

Dear Mr Sean Wilson,
FW:FOI003498 Freedom of Information request - Payments from Swindon
Community Library Trust
Thank you for your request for information received in our office on 17^th
December, 2020
Under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, the Council has a
duty to respond promptly or no later than 20 working days, which in this
case is 18^th January, 2021.
In which you have requested the following information:
For the last few years Swindon Community Library Trust have been running

Borough Council (SBC). My questions relate to this.

Since a qualified exemption applies to the requested information and the
public interest test is also engaged, the Act does allow for the response
to take in excess of 20 days, although the information must be supplied
within a ‘reasonable’ time scale, dependent upon all the circumstances of
the case in question.
In your case we estimate that it will take until 22^nd January until a
decision on where the balance of the public interest lies.
The specific exemption which may apply in this case is Section 40(2)
Personal Information
Can you also clarify if you would be prepared to accept a salary banding
instead of the actual salary in response to your question?
If I can be of any further assistance in the meantime, please get back to
me.

Dear Sharon Druett,
Thanks for your reply.
My request is about how much have SBC charge the Library Trust for library services from 2016 onwards.
if you can break this down to salary costs, cots for library stock & other services that would be helpful. As an example this might be £15 000 salary costs, £2000 IT costs, £1000 book costs.
I don't need to know the librarian's actual salary, but rather the charge you make to the Library trust for the services of the librarian (salary + benefits package)
Yours sincerely,
Mr Sean Wilson
