Stephen Baker, Halton Borough Council

Dear Mr Owen,

With reference to the correspondence below, the information you are referring to is not the Council's accounts but a list of transactions over £500 which the Council are required to publish on a monthly basis in line with the Governments Transparency Agenda.

Your question on the initial request for information was as follows:

Can it be clarified as to what Purpose of Expenditure will be include in the requirement for clients receiving care to contribute to its cost where their financial reserves exceed the government ‘s maximum allowance.
As stated in your accounts Purpose of Expenditures for care are, Domiciliary Care, Residential Care and Permanent Nursing Care and possible others.

The Council can organise care arrangements for clients where their financial reserves exceed the maximum allowance. Clients are then invoiced for their contribution towards the care costs. Expenditure relating to this activity is listed under purpose of expenditure as domiciliary care, residential care and permanent nursing care.

Does the above answer your question? If not can you please elaborate on the request, perhaps giving an example of what information you require.

Yours Faithfully,

Steve Baker
