Payment date for Equitable Life With Profits policyholders
Dear Equitable Life Payment Scheme,
Recently the Coalition Government promised that With Profits Policyholders of the Equitable Life Insurance company would be paid a fixed sum of £5000 (£10000 if on low income) as compensation for their losses following the demise of that Company. This payment is to be made independently of payments made by the Equitable Life Payment Scheme.
When will this fixed payment take place?
If this question cannot be addressed by the above Scheme, then to whom should application be made?

Thank you for contacting the Equitable Life Payment Scheme Mr Hodges,
You will not receive a payment from the Equitable Life Payment Scheme
as pre-1992 With-Profit Annuitants are ineligible for the Scheme.
However, for those policyholders aged over 60 who bought their
Equitable Life With-Profits Annuity before 1 September 1992, the
Government has decided that it will make an ex-gratia payment of £5,000
to them. An additional £5,000 will be available to those policyholders
who meet the above criteria and are in receipt of Pension Credit. For
