Braintree District Council is making decisions each day to balance the
needs to maintain essential services and support those in most need,
whilst following public health guidance to protect the public and staff
against infection from coronavirus.

Due to the unprecedented circumstances we are facing during the
Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, it may not be possible for us to meet our
usual standard of response to Freedom of Information Requests or within
the timescales stipulated. The Council will respond to your request as
soon as we are able.

I am writing regarding your Freedom of Information request received by the
department on the 22 March 2021

The Freedom of Information Act enables access to information held by the
Council, subject to the exemptions contained within the Act. The Act does
not require the Council to create information to respond to a request if
the requested information is not held, nor to give an opinion or comment.

Please find our response to your Freedom of Information request below:

For the period 01/04/2019 to 31/03/2020, please could you tell me:

* The total number of pay and display parking tickets or transactions sold
(all payment methods)

0 on-street transactions

166,618 off street transactions

* The total pay and display income (Cash, Credit/Debit card, Mobile App)

£318,019.40 on street

£1,128,161.96 off street

* Total number of pay and display parking tickets or transactions sold via
a Mobile App parking payment provider

84,209 on street

84,610 off street

* Total pay and display income processed via a Mobile App parking payment
provider

£318,019.40 on street

£322,788.58 off street

Finally, in relation to the Council’s current Mobile App parking payment
provider, could you tell me:

* What is the contract expiry date for your Mobile App parking payment
provider, and are there any extension periods? - 31st Jan 2026

* What is the current notice period required in order for the Council to
exit this contract? - No less than 12 months and subject to ESPO terms and
conditions

* What is the current contract value, annualised over the period
01/04/2019 – 31/03/2020? - £50k costs, but it is awarded as an integral
part of a much larger integrated parking solution.
