Patient transport policy

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust,

Please provide the following:

(1) Copy of the clinical criteria used when requesting/processing outpatient transport for patients

(2) Copy of the FULL policy with all appendices relating to patient transport

(3) Copy of the Trusts procedures and guidelines for the management of Trust transport accounts.

(4) Confirmation of what types/groups of accessible transport available when booking transport for patients with disability

(5) Copy of the booking form used by outpatient clinics based in the Trust

Separate to the above:

Please confirm exactly what disability awareness training front line staff, managers and ward staff attend and how often this happens ( do NOT include physical illness training)

It is presumed you have refused to acknowledge because this information is pertinent to the current Ombudsman investigation the Trust is facing.

As you have deliberately failed to acknowledge or respond to this request and one other you will now be referred to the ICO.

This is clearly because the subject matter is part of a full Ombudsman investigation and the MH trust does not want to im0plicate itself .

This has now been referred to the ICO who have served a notice on the Trust to comply on this and another request ignored.

If I am not happy with the response I can then request an internal review

The ICO served notice on the MH Trust to respond within 35 days. They failed to do so. They have been contacted by the ICO and given a further 7 days within which to respond.
