Dear Oliver

Further to your request for information, please see the Trusts response
below.

How much do you spend in non-emergency patient transport for years
2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18.

Year Value (£)
2015/16 51,610.68
2016/17 81,583.92
2017/18 99,569.73

Please confirm your due diligence process before using a non-emergency
patient transport service. Does this include requesting CQC inspection
reports?

A supplier is selected from the Trust’s approved supplier listing based on
their locality.  The due diligence undertaken to enable a supplier to be
included on the supplier listing includes suppliers providing proof of
company status, including bank details, company and VAT numbers which are
all validated.  Credit checks are also undertaken to assess the financial
stability of the company.  If all is acceptable then they are approved for
use. Should any CQC reports be received, they will be taken into
consideration.

How do you monitor the performance  and governance of non-emergency
patient transport providers?

For any failed transport services, e.g. Aborted transport, a patient
safety concern or a failure of a Key Performance Indicator (KPI), a log is
made on the Trust Risk Management system which is then reviewed between
the Trust and the Provider. It is then discussed in DTOC (Delayed transfer
of care) meetings, as part of wider discussion within the meeting.
