Pathology Request

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Orkney NHS Board should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

I was hoping you could help provide me with the below information in accordance with the FOI act:

1. Where are your pathology services based?
2. How many agency/ locum staff are currently employed by the trust both as Medical Laboratory Assistants and Biomedical Scientists?
3. What was the annual spend on locum agency workers in the last financial year?

Clarification was required on the following points:

With reference to my email dated 28/10/2014 asking for clarification of your FOI request (reference number 201415/182).

Under section 1(3) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2010 (FOISA) an authority is not obliged to provide information to an applicant until requested clarification is provided.
The requested clarification is required to enable NHS Orkney to identify and locate the information you wish to receive.
As you have not responded to the request for clarification, I am unable to proceed further with your request.

However, if you wish to submit a new request which describes the information clearly, we would be able to consider your request and respond in accordance with FOISA. If you require any advice and assistance regarding your request please contact me.

Under section 20 (1) of the Act, if you are dissatisfied with the way NHS Orkney has dealt with your request, you have a right to ask for a review of our actions and decisions in relation to your request, and you have a right to appeal to the Scottish Information Commissioner.

A request for review should be made within 40 working days of receipt of this letter and NHS Orkney will reply within 20 working days of receipt.
