Dear Wheatley Housing Group Limited,

The dangers of passive smoking are now well established. As a result smoking is banned in many public places to protect people from others' smoke.

The dangers, to children especially, from passive smoking in the home enviroment remains a real concern to health. Therefore:

1. Please detail how many complaints you have received to each of your housing associations regarding smoke - from smoking either tobacco or drugs or both - coming from properties socially rented by your housing associations.

For April 2019 till date

For April 2018 to March 2019

For April 2017 to March 2018

For April 2016 to March 2017

For April 2015 to March 2016

Please supply the answers as laid in the request per year, not grouped altogether.

2. Many socially renting landlords in other countries now ban tenants from smoking or allowing smoking in the rented properties as part of their tenancy conditions, because of the nuisance and danger to health from passive smoke entering non-smokers' flats, as well as the danger to occupants of the smokers' flats.

Please supply any documentation which addresses concerns about passive smoke in your socially rented properties.

3. Please supply any documents / information that shows that Wheatley Group or any of your housing associations have given consideration or consulted about introduction of a smoking ban in socially rented Wheatley Group / Wheatley Group housing associations socially rented properties.

4. Please supply any documentation which shows whether Wheatley Group has ever considered if they could be held liable for passive smoke due to allowing smoking in their socially rented properties, despite knowing passive smoke is a danger to health.
Yours faithfully,

COLIN WHITE
