Thank you for your request which we received on 22 January 2024, asking
for information about passenger information system on TfL network.

 

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of
the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can
confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:

 

• What company provides the Passenger Information System on your LU 1967
Stock trains? 

These had an audio only system from Focon. This fleet is now withdrawn.

 

• What company provides the Passenger Information System on your LU 1972
Stock trains? 

These currently have an audio only system from Focon. However, the stock
is currently being upgraded, and the new audio/visual system will be
provided by EKE.

 

• What company provides the Passenger Information System on your LU 1973
Stock trains? 

These have an audio/visual system from Ketech. The trains are due for
replacement by 24TS.

 

• What company provides the Passenger Information System on your LU 1992
Stock trains? 

The original audio only system is from Westinghouse Rail Systems Ltd
(WRSL). However, the stock is currently being upgraded, and the new
audio/visual system will be provided by EKE.

 

• What company provides the Passenger Information System on your LU 1995
Stock trains? 

This is an audio/visual system from Ketech and control elements from
Alstom.

 

• What company provides the Passenger Information System on your LU 1996
Stock trains? 

This is an audio/visual system from Focon and control elements from
Alstom/Marconi.

 

• What company provides the Passenger Information System on your LU 2009
Stock trains? 

This is an audio/visual system from Focon and some control elements from
Bombardier.

 

• What company provides the Passenger Information System on your LU C
Stock trains?  T

These used an audio only system from Focon. The fleet is now withdrawn.

Stock trains?

Class 172 trains no longer operate on London Overground.

These are provided by Alstom electronics (formerly BTROS).

710 trains?

These are provided by Axion electronics.

 

• What company provides the Passenger Information System on your EL Class
345 trains?  

These are provided by Global Display Solutions (GDS).

 

• What company provides the Passenger Information System on your DLR
B90/B92/B2K/B07/B09 trains?

Information screens are provided by Televic. TfL has a contract with a
voiceover artist for audible announcements.

 

• What company provides the Passenger Information System on your DLR B23
trains?

Information screens are provided by Teleste. Audible announcements are to
be confirmed.

 

• What company provides the Passenger Information System at your DLR
stations?

The passenger information displays on the platforms are provided by
Thales.

 

The passenger information system known as Docklands Arrival Information
SYstem (DAISY) at most concourse / entrances at DLR stations is provided
by Telent.

 

The public address system is provided by Application Solutions Ltd (ASL).

 

• What company provides the Passenger Information System on your Croydon
Tram CR4000 trams?

These are provided by Hanover Displays.  

 

• What company provides the passenger information system on your Croydon
Tram Variobahn trams?

These were originally provided by Funkwerk. The vehicle-bourne systems are
now looked after by Annax.

 

• What company provides the Passenger Information System at your Croydon
Tram tram stops?

These are provided by Siemens systems.

 

• What company provides the Passenger Information System onboard your
London Buses?

Trapeze ITS Switzerland GmbH provides the passenger information system
onboard buses under the iBus contract. In some cases, the operators have
installed their own; these are provided by Navaho Technologies Ltd and
Mobitech/Luminator Technology Group.

 

• What company provides the Passenger Information System onboard your
Cable Cars?

These are provided by Global Services Ltd.
