Part IIB Economics Scores Per Question
Dear University of Cambridge,
I hope this note finds you well. I am writing to request, for each Part IIB Economics examination paper from 2013 onwards:
1. The highest (maximum) mark recorded on each question.
2. The highest (maximum) overall mark recorded on that paper.
3. The average (mean and median) mark recorded on each question.
4. The number of candidates who answered that question.
For instance, consider the data that has indeed been published (via examiner reports, for example) for Part IIB's Paper 1 (Microeconomics) from the 2020-2021 examination series:
1. The highest score on question 1 was 80, the highest score on question 2 was 90, etc. until the highest score on question 6 (which was 82).
2. The average mark on question 1 was 66.6, question 2's was 66.9, etc. until question 6, whose average mark was 66.8.
3. The highest overall score on the exam was then 85.
4. 114 students answered question 1, 47 question 2, etc. until question 6, which 133 students answered.
In the same manner, I request such data across all papers from 2013 onwards - ideally in the form of an Excel Spreadsheet. If data was not recorded for any of the aforementioned 4 data points, feel free to leave that entry blank (no justification is required). For instance, I understand that the Public Economics paper was withdrawn for the 2021-2022 exam series - in such an example, this paper's data entries in the requested spreadsheet can be left empty for 2022.
Yours faithfully,
Viswanathan Raghavan

Dear FOI,
I note that you did not include a calculation or explanation of the costs involved in providing the information. It would be useful if you could do so, to allow me to understand how best to reframe my request and not exceed the cost limit.
As I am sure you are aware, the FOI Act states that it is "the duty of a public authority to provide advice and assistance, so far as it would be reasonable to expect the authority to do so", and the ICO consider it best practice to provide "arguments or evidence" when applying this exemption.
Yours sincerely,
Viswanathan Raghavan

I understand that this will be treated as a new request as per your last response, so am very grateful for your efforts.
