Parliamentary bills

The request was partially successful.

Dear Foreign and Commonwealth Office,

Please could you send me any correspondence with the House of Commons - either the Commission, the Liaison Committee, members of the House Service - relating to trips abroad by Keith Vaz in his capacity as a member of the Home Affairs Select Committee.

It strikes me that there are several ways that this could be achieved - and I am happy to take your advice on how to make this manageable.

I would note that the sessional records show he was present for the following trips:
9.9.2007 Lisbon, Portugal
14.10.2007 Washington DC
12.5.2008 Ukraine and Russia
2.10.2008 India and Bangladesh
17.3.2009 Prague
14.9.2009 Lisbon and Madrid
2.10.2009 Netherlands
27.2.2011 Turkey
14.6.2011 Athens
4.3.2012 Miami and Bogotá
3.3.2013 Qatar and the United Arab Emirates
20.5.2013 Bucharest, Romania
3.3.2014 Nairobi, Kenya

If you could assist me, as per section 16, to slim down my request if necessary, I would appreciate it.

Yours faithfully,

Chris Cook

Foreign and Commonwealth Office

Dear Chris Cook,

Thank you for your email to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) requesting information under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

In order for us to be able to assist you with your request and best direct any search please could you clarify/refine the scope of your request. As currently drafted your request is too broad and would go over the statutory limit set under the FOIA and we would be unable to proceed with it.

Would it be possible for you to refine your request. For example, you could narrow your request to three of the visits you list; and provide a timeframe for us to search for the correspondence for each visit.

Once we receive your revised request we will consider it and the appropriate course of action.

Yours sincerely

Apologies for slow reply
