Thank you for your below Freedom of Information request sent to Worcester
City Council.

 

Response:

I would like to know how many parking tickets/notices were issued in the
following years and how much revenue was generated in fines from them:

 

2014

2015

2016

 

For the years 2014, 2015 and up to April 2016, the information you have
requested is publically available from the Council’s website at the
follwing address: [3]http://www.worcester.gov.uk/annual-reports

 

 

In relation to the remaining information you have requested revenue
generated in fines for 2016. Worcester City Council does hold the
information you have requested. However, in accordance with Section
22(1)(c) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 the information you have
requested is exempt as the Council plans to publish this information in
the future.

 

In coming to this decision I have considered the public interest and I
believe that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs
the public interest in disclosing the information at this stage.

 

I have formed this view as follows:

 

Worcester City Council receives regular Freedom of Information requests
for information about parking enforcement. As many of these requests are
for similar information, the Council releases a comprehensive Civil
Parking Enforcement Annual Report which covers all aspects of your request
and will be available from the web link provided in response to question
one.

 

By the Council taking this approach it minimises the impact on the
relevant service enabling them to focus on their core business, which in
this case is administering the Council’s enforcement duties.

 

I believe the public interest is greater served by enabling this work to
be undertaken in a timely manner rather than, in this case duplicating
the  provision of information which is already intended to be made public
in the future as outlined above.

 

If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you have the
right to ask for an internal review. Internal review requests should be
submitted no later than two months from the date of our response to your
original request. These requests should be sent by email to
