foi, Greenwich Borough Council

Dear Mr Shaw

Freedom of Information request FOI 17983

Thank you for your request dated 6th August 2018:

Our response is as follows:

1) How many pay-and-display tickets have been purchased, since their installation, from the two machines recently installed in Annandale Road SE10

Machine numbers 105 and 106 have taken payments since the 30th April 2018. For the period between the 30th April 2018, up to and including the 15th August 2018, there have been 724 pay and display tickets purchased and 216 pay by mobile bookings made for the location.

2) How many parking violation tickets have been served on illegally parked cars in Annandale Road SE10 over the same period as in 1) above

For the period between the 30th April 2018, up to and including the 15th August 2018, there have been 56 Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) issued on Annandale Road.

3) How many parking violation tickets have been served on illegally parked cars on Woolwich Road, between its junction with Blackwall Lane and its junction with the A102M flyover, over the same period as in 1) above

The location specified lies within the Westcombe Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) area. For the Westcombe CPZ controlled part of Woolwich Road, for the period between the 30th April 2018, up to and including the 15th August 2018, there have been 15 PCNs issued.

4) What was cost of the installation per machine for each pay-and-display machine in Annandale Road SE10

£320

5) What are the estimated costs of the installation of a roadside vehicle charging point in the same position as the recently installed pay-and-display machines in Annandale Road SE10

The cost of installation of a charging point depends on the type of point and the location of the point.

Different charging points charge at different speeds and thus vary in price according to the speeds. Charging points installed in existing lamp posts typically cost around £1500 to purchase and install. If a new lamppost is deemed to be necessary this will cost an additional £1000. These charge at 3.5-7 KWH and usually take 8 hours to fully charge a standard electric vehicle.

Freestanding charging points which charge at 7kw-22kw (charge a car in 4-6 hours) and typically cost around £3000-£5000 to purchase. Installation costs vary according to the extent of works required and the cost of the electricity set up. Costs can range between £4000 and £10,000.

Rapid chargers, which can charge a car in 20-30 minutes, are larger units and can cost around £30,000-£40,000. Installation costs are similar to those for free standing charging points.

If you have any queries about this correspondence, please contact me, quoting the reference number above.
