Parking Spaces
Dear Buckinghamshire Council,
I wanted to get in touch to see if you'd please be able to help me with a few of these questions, relating to your area.
I would like to know..
1. How many Blue Badge holders are in your area?
2. How many council-owned parking spaces there are?
3. How many of these council-owned parking spaces are for Blue Badge holders?
4. How many of these council-owned parking spaces are parent-child spaces?
5. How many fines are, on average, given out, to those that park in Blue Badge spaces that aren't allowed to park there?
6. The same for parent-child spaces.
If you could please get back to me as soon as you can, that would be really great.
Many thanks!
Emma

Dear Ms Leigh Hull
FOI 28686 and FOI 28528
Thank you for contacting Buckinghamshire Council and your request for
information regarding Parking Spaces and Blue Badge Parking.
This request has been handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Please find the relevant details below.
1. How many Blue Badge holders are in your area?
22,086
2. How many council-owned parking spaces there are?
Off Street:
Information can be found here
[1]https://www.buckinghamshire.gov.uk/parki...
On Street: 4507
3. How many of these council-owned parking spaces are for Blue Badge
holders?
Off Street:
Information can be found as per link above
On Street: 212
4. How many of these council-owned parking spaces are parent-child spaces?
Off Street:
We do not have parent-child spaces in. These are not enforceable under the
Traffic Management Act 2004 which we carry out Civil Parking Enforcement
under and therefore we have no powers to ensure they are used only by the
designated user group.
On Street:

5. How many fines are given out a month (on average) for people that park
in Blue Badge spaces when they have no Blue Badge?
Off Street:
We are unable to provide this information. Many motorists are issued with
a parking fine for parking in a disabled bay, some of these are blue badge
holders that have forgotten to display their badge, or it has fallen down
and cannot be seen in the vehicle. Not every fine is appealed and
therefore we have no mechanism by which we can retrieve data to state only
fines that have been issued to non-blue badge holders.

6. The same for parent-child spaces.
