Parking Spaces
Dear South Norfolk District Council,
I wanted to get in touch to see if you'd please be able to help me with a few of these questions, relating to your area.
I would like to know..
1. How many Blue Badge holders are in your area?
2. How many council-owned parking spaces there are?
3. How many of these council-owned parking spaces are for Blue Badge holders?
4. How many of these council-owned parking spaces are parent-child spaces?
5. How many fines are, on average, given out, to those that park in Blue Badge spaces that aren't allowed to park there?
6. The same for parent-child spaces.
If you could please get back to me as soon as you can, that would be really great.
Many thanks!
Emma

Dear Emma
I refer to your Freedom of Information request to which I am now in a
position to respond on behalf of South Norfolk Council. My response is
outlined below along with your questions for ease of reference.
1. How many Blue Badge holders are in your area?
Blue Badges for South Norfolk are issued by Norfolk County Council so we
do not hold this information.
2. How many council-owned parking spaces there are?
In South Norfolk - Approx. 670 Pay & Display spaces (Off-street).
3. How many of these council-owned parking spaces are for Blue Badge
holders?
There are 33 specific spaces in South Norfolk Pay & Display (Off-street)
car parks but if these are full, Blue Badge holders can park in any
available space, as long as they display a Blue Badge.
4. How many of these council-owned parking spaces are parent-child
spaces?
Nil.
5. How many fines are, on average, given out, to those that park in Blue
Badge spaces that aren't allowed to park there?
Nil. In general, we do not have an issue with this within South Norfolk.
6. The same for parent-child spaces.
N/a.
I hope this is of assistance and is sufficient to meet your requirements,
but if, for whatever reason you wish to get back to me, please feel free
to do so. In particular if you are unhappy with the information provided
or how your request was handled please let me know and I will explain how
you can request an internal review of our decision.
